The US Military Endurance Sports Program is a privately funded 501c3 non-profit organization supporting recreational and competitive cycling, triathlon, and adaptive cycling activities for current and Veteran members of the United States Armed Forces. The team receives no financial assistance from the Department of Defense and aids athletes solely through the support of sponsors and donors.
Many Military athletes who are passionate about endurance sports, and many others who are searching for activities as part of a healthy lifestyle, have high hurdles to overcome due to their service to their country. To help give these amazing soldier-athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest levels, The US Military Endurance Sports Program and its parent organization, American Servicemembers Amateur Sports Inc. (ASAS), were formed in 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization with the goal to support elite endurance athletes from the ranks of the US Armed Forces.
The Mission of the US Military Endurance Sports Program is:
- To educate military members and advocate cycling and triathlon as excellent methods to gain/regain/maintain fitness as part of an active healthy lifestyle.
- To train and prepare able-bodied and reintegrating military cyclists and triathletes for regional, national, and international competition.
- To provide an enduring framework and inclusive team structure for all current and former military members who are serious about endurance sports, remaining one of the most visible and successful amateur sports organizations in the United States.
