Headsweats Expands Team with Three New Hires

 

BOULDER, Colo. (October 25, 2019) – Headsweats, the 20-year leader in high performance headwear and apparel, has rounded out its team with the addition of Katey Martus, Dorothy Pacheco and Megan Scharf. Pacheco joins as a senior account manager, Martus joins as an account manager, and Scharf comes on board as the social media and community manager.

“Headsweats continues to grow our product offerings and our distribution, and these key hires will help us maintain our momentum,” said Mike McQueeney, president of Headsweats. “Dorothy, Katey and Megan all have impressive professional and athletic backgrounds that will add real horsepower to our team.”

Katey Martus joins Headsweats with over 15 years of sales and marketing experience in both peripheral and storage technologies. Most recently she managed recruiting and operations for green tech firm, Ascend Analytics. With expertise in process improvement methodologies, Martus has helped both small start-ups and large corporate organizations launch new products. A passionate outdoorswoman, Martus is a former certified ski instructor at Beaver Creek Resort and current mountain bike coach for Boulder Junior Cycling and the Colorado Mountain Bike Association. Martus is based in Boulder with her two teen boys

 

 

A well-respected figure in the cycling industry, Dorothy Pacheco has worked in sales at Todson Inc.,

Shebeest and Accell Group. Most recently, she worked in sales and marketing for Batch Bicycles at the Huffy Corporation. A seasoned and dedicated mountain biker, Pacheco played a role in founding the National Off-Road Bicycle Association and helped establish mountain biking as an Olympic Sport for the 1996 Games. Pacheco currently serves as a UCI International Mountain Bike Commissaire and is a member of the USA Cycling’s Board of Directors and the Little Bellas Board of Directors. She resides in Boulder.

 

With a keen eye for social media, Megan Scharf brings a focused experience in public relations and marketing to the team. A graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, Megan comes to Headsweats from a Colorado-based public relations firm where she helped companies find their brand personality in social media. A Colorado native, Megan enjoys snowboarding, exploring hiking trails and sampling craft beer in her free time.
