Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit Announces partnership with Headsweats

Leader in custom head gear and athletic apparel puts its support behind the Outspoken mission, joining as a Juno level partner

Denver, Colorado, USA - October 15, 2019 - The producers of the Outspoken: Women in Triathlon Summit presented by Triathlete Magazine are excited to announce a Juno level partnership with Headsweats for the Summit this fall, November 15th - November 17th in Tempe, AZ. The Outspoken Summit, in its second year, aims to move the conversation about women in triathlon beyond participation numbers towards a critical analysis of women's continued marginalization in the sport. It encourages attendees to explore some of the small and large ways all women continue to experience exclusion as athletes and as leader in triathlon. Collectively, attendees will develop solutions to these persistent problems.

This year, the Summit has a formidable line up of keynote speakers: triathlon legend Sally Edwards, professional triathlete Sarah True, military leader and Fast Chix founder, Col. Yvonne Spencer, and Dr. Rachel McKinnon, professional cyclist and trans rights advocate. Gabriela Gallegos, founder of the Mighty Mujer Triathlon series and USAT board member will also be speaking at the inaugural Women in Triathlon Awards Banquet

“We are very excited to be sponsoring and supporting the 2019 Outspoken Women’s Triathlon Summit. As a working woman in the triathlon industry, I am proud of this new partnership and hope we can help encourage and bring more women together to support gender equity and inclusion. At Headsweats, we are committed to empowering women, not only by providing top of the line performance gear but also by joining efforts to inspire and empower this transformation. We are looking forward to connecting with like-minded leadership!” says Magui Martinez-Pena, Headsweats Sales Manager.

Dr. Lisa Ingarfield, Outspoken Summit co-founder, triathlon coach, and diversity and inclusion consultant shares: “It is really fantastic to see businesses from across the industry stepping up and backing the mission of Outspoken. Headsweats is a leader in our community and having their support makes us stronger. We are excited to partner with them this year.”

This year’s theme Leading From the Inside Out encourages all individuals, organizations, and businesses to think about how they can affect change in the sport they love. If you want to join this energizing conversation, you can register at www.outspokensummit.com through November 12th. Additional sponsorship opportunities also exist for companies looking to become a part of the change Outspoken is looking to ignite.
